August Nonprofit Spotlight: CC Community Chest

Updated: Sep 30, 2022

Founded in 1947 as an organization of neighbors helping neighbors, the mission of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest is to engage our community to help neighbors in need. Local businesses and individuals share with us their philanthropic gifts of time, expertise, and financial resources. We translate that support into essential aid for nonprofit human service organizations serving residents in Concord and Carlisle.

In the process, the children discover the value of their ideas and unique qualities and their ability to make the world better exactly as they are at every age and stage. Ours is a new approach to “community service”cause we’re asking kids to start seeing giving not as an occasional obligation but as their larger purpose.

For 75 years, the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest has strengthened our community by fundraising and allocating money to a broad range of human service organizations that help Concord and Carlisle residents. Our model allows one single contribution to support many organizations and programs that offer a broad range of community services to young and old alike—family and individual counseling, legal assistance, job retraining, support for domestic violence victims, adult respite care, preschool scholarships, parenting support, substance abuse prevention, adolescent programs, and much more.
